I had a fantastic Young Bird series with my pigeons really coming on strong starting with the 200 mile races.
On Oct. 24th, 200 mile race, I was 4th, 5th, and 6th clocking two brothers, AU-09-HORN-555, Silver Cock and AU-09-HORN-526, BBC. Woodlawn's Young Bird of the Year, "Glenwood", AU-09-HORN-504, BBC, clocked 14th on the 200 mile B race.
On Oct. 31, on our 300 mile Auction Race, "Rose", AU-09-HORN-501, BCH came in 6th place.
Then, Nov. 7th, on the first 200 mile race, I had nine birds on the drop taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th places. "Rose", AU-09-HORN-501, BCH, was on this drop along with "Grey Ghost", AU-09-HORN-554, Grizzle Cock, who was 2nd Place in the Woodlawn's Young Bird of the Year.
On the B race 200 miles, I had seven birds on the drop taking 3rd thru 9th place, missing winning first place by 38 seconds with my birds having to fly 24 miles further on a 1200 ypm race. "Glenwood" AU-09-HORN-504, BBC, was on this drop.
On Nov. 14, on our first 300 mile race, I had six birds on the drop taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th places, with "Grey Ghost", AU-09-HORN-554, Grizzle Cock on this drop. On the drop was his nest-mate sister AU-09-HORN-553, Grizzle Hen, also.
Then on the B race 300 miles, I had seven birds on the drop taking 3rd, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th places missing winning 1st place by 3 seconds with my birds having to fly 10 miles further on a 1300 ypm race.
"Glenwood" AU-09-HORN-504. BBC, scored 9th place on this first drop missing first place by 8 seconds. Winning speed was 1311.558 with "Glenwood's" speed at 1311.102 ypm.
